A quiet Sunday, a sharp Monday morning.

The downtown event calendar is quiet today, and we're not going to invent something that isn't there. Sunday in Roanoke is Sunday — long coffees, patio time, and the kind of pace you came here for.

Tonight is mostly clear and cool, dropping to a low around 42°F with light west winds. Tomorrow looks like the highlight of the week: sunny, a high near 61°F, a bit of wind in the afternoon with gusts to 25 mph. If you've been waiting for the right day to drive up to the Blue Ridge Parkway or hike McAfee Knob, Monday is it — early start, good light, and almost no weekend crowd.

Worth knowing: a Freeze Watch is in effect from Tuesday (April 21) midnight through 9 AM. If you've got anything tender in the courtyard or you're tent-camping somewhere up the ridge, that's the one to plan around.

For today: the patio at Martin's is yours this afternoon, RND Coffee is open for a slow morning cortado, and A Few Old Goats is right downstairs when you're ready for a pint. We'll be back tomorrow with what's on Monday — the calendar fills in quickly mid-week.
